The Usson Park, living testimony to the Italian Renaissance

8.5 hectares of woods and garden surround the Usson castle. This enchanting park is full of hundred year old trees of various types: for example oak trees, cedar trees, pine trees, palm trees and the gingko-biloba tree. It has been planned out to the style of Italian Renaissance gardens.

The Renaissance gardens originate in the south of Italy. But it’s actually in Florence where the mix of Neapolitan vegetative décor and the Roman imagination was found. This style can be seen very clearly within the Usson park, through the relaxing water and lots of pebbles.

Therefore the park is made up of various distinct elements: for example, geometric beds in the square, a maze, vineyards, a forest of oak trees, an undergrowth of rose bushes and a vegetable patch.
